Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide sustainability policies aligned with Austin's Climate Action Plan
- Monitor regulatory compliance for air/water quality and hazardous materials
- Lead grant writing and federal funding applications for environmental projects
- Coordinate interdepartmental sustainability task forces
- Design public education campaigns on waste reduction and conservation
- Analyze environmental data and prepare compliance reports
- Manage vendor relationships for green technology procurement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of environmental compliance experience in government or regulated industry
- Texas Environmental Quality Commission (TCEQ) certification preferred
- Advanced proficiency in GIS mapping and environmental data analytics
- Proven grant management experience with federal/state agencies
- Strong project management skills with PMP certification
- Excellent public speaking and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Valid Texas driver's license
