Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide sustainability initiatives aligned with Minnesota environmental regulations
- Analyze environmental compliance data and prepare comprehensive reports for county commissioners
- Lead interdepartmental projects to reduce carbon emissions and improve waste management efficiency
- Coordinate with state agencies on environmental grant applications and funding opportunities
- Train county staff on sustainable practices and regulatory compliance requirements
- Manage environmental permitting processes for county facilities and infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive environmental management experience in government or regulated industry
- Deep knowledge of Minnesota environmental regulations (MPCA standards)
- Proven project management experience with cross-functional teams
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills with proficiency in environmental software
- Valid Minnesota driver's license with clean record
- Excellent communication skills for public presentations and stakeholder engagement
