Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive environmental compliance programs for county facilities
- Conduct site assessments and regulatory audits for waste management and pollution prevention
- Lead community outreach initiatives on sustainability practices and environmental education
- Analyze environmental data to recommend policy improvements and resource optimization
- Coordinate with state agencies on environmental regulations and reporting requirements
- Mentor junior staff and oversee environmental project implementations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of environmental compliance/regulatory experience
- Professional certification (e.g., CHMM, QEP) strongly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of EPA/NC DENR regulations
- Experience with environmental data analysis software (GIS, ArcGIS)
- Proven project management and stakeholder communication skills
- Valid NC driver's license
