Responsibilities
- Develop and execute county-wide sustainability plans and environmental compliance programs
- Lead community outreach initiatives on waste reduction and resource conservation
- Analyze environmental data to identify trends and recommend policy improvements
- Coordinate with federal/state agencies on regulatory compliance matters
- Manage grant applications and reporting for environmental projects
- Train staff on environmental best practices and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of environmental program management experience
- Strong knowledge of EPA/NCDEQ regulations and sustainability frameworks
- Proven grant writing and project management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
