Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide environmental compliance strategies for industrial and municipal facilities
- Lead hazardous waste management programs and emergency response protocols
- Conduct site inspections and environmental audits for regulatory compliance
- Design and execute community education campaigns on sustainable practices
- Collaborate with state EPA officials on air/water quality improvement initiatives
- Manage grant-funded environmental projects and reporting requirements
- Mentor junior staff and cross-departmental sustainability teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years experience in environmental regulatory compliance or sustainability management
- Professional certification (e.g., CHMM, LEED AP) required
- Advanced knowledge of EPA regulations and Georgia environmental statutes
- Experience managing environmental grant programs and budgets
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in GIS mapping software
- Exceptional public speaking and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Valid Georgia driver's license with clean record
