Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental policies aligned with county sustainability goals and EPA regulations
- Lead hazardous waste management programs ensuring compliance with federal/state environmental laws
- Conduct site inspections and environmental audits for industrial/commercial properties
- Coordinate public education initiatives on recycling, conservation, and pollution prevention
- Analyze environmental data to inform policy recommendations and resource allocation
- Collaborate with tribal nations and municipalities on regional environmental initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Policy, or related field
- Minimum 4 years experience in environmental compliance or resource management
- Strong knowledge of Minnesota Pollution Control Agency regulations
- Valid Minnesota driver's license with clean driving record
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and environmental data analysis tools
- Experience facilitating public meetings and stakeholder engagement
- Certification in Hazardous Materials Management preferred
