Job Overview:
The Senior Federal IT Specialist will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex federal information systems. You will ensure compliance with strict government regulations and provide technical leadership to junior staff members.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure federal information systems and networks.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Ensure full compliance with FISMA, NIST, and other federal security regulations.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to protect sensitive data.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff and federal contractors.
- Manage project lifecycles from planning to deployment, ensuring adherence to budget and timelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain one).
- 5+ years of experience in federal IT environments or systems administration.
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, cybersecurity protocols, and hardware management.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and government contracting processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-security environment.
