Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the UK Federal IT infrastructure, ensuring 99.9% uptime.
- Implement and monitor security protocols in compliance with UK Government standards (e.g., GDPR, NCSC).
- Configure and troubleshoot complex server environments, including AWS and Azure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver federal projects on time and within budget.
- Conduct regular system audits and risk assessments to safeguard sensitive citizen data.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior system administrators and support staff.
- Document all technical processes and maintain up-to-date technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a systems administration role within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK Federal regulations, data protection laws, and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Valid UK Security Clearance (DV or SC) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
