Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex GIS solutions using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Python.
- Analyze and visualize spatial data to support critical county initiatives, including transportation and land use planning.
- Create interactive web mapping applications and dashboards for public and internal stakeholders.
- Manage database integrity, perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on spatial datasets, and ensure compliance with federal and state standards.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior GIS staff and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable GIS technical specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, mapping, and software development.
- Advanced proficiency in the ArcGIS software suite (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online).
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, JavaScript, and RESTful services.
- Experience with database management systems (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and version control (Git).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
