Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research and data analysis on local government policies, public health initiatives, and urban development projects.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefings, and presentations for the City Council, Mayor’s Office, and senior executive leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and operations departments, to develop strategic recommendations.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and public forums to gather community feedback and assess program effectiveness.
- Monitor legislative changes at the state and federal levels to assess potential impacts on city operations and budgeting.
- Utilize data visualization tools to present complex information in an accessible and actionable format.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Economics, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in government, public sector analysis, or policy research.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Tableau, SQL) and GIS mapping tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Texas state government regulations and local Austin municipal codes is highly desirable.
