Responsibilities
- Research and identify federal, state, and private funding opportunities aligned with organizational goals
- Develop compelling grant proposals and narratives with persuasive storytelling elements
- Collaborate with program teams to gather data and prepare compelling project budgets
- Manage grant application pipeline and ensure timely submission of all proposals
- Build and maintain relationships with foundation program officers and funding partners
- Prepare grant reports and impact documentation for funders and stakeholders
- Track funding trends and emerging opportunities in Mesa's nonprofit sector
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- 3+ years of proven grant writing experience with 80%+ success rate
- Exceptional writing skills with portfolio demonstrating persuasive grant narratives
- Expertise in federal, state, and private grant application processes
- Strong analytical skills for budget development and project planning
- Experience with nonprofit fundraising databases (e.g., Salesforce NPSP)
- Knowledge of Mesa's community needs and local funding landscape
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
