Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities from federal agencies, private foundations, and corporate sponsors aligned with organizational mission
- Develop, write, and submit high-impact grant proposals with compelling narratives, detailed budgets, and measurable outcomes
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with funding partners through regular communication and stewardship reporting
- Collaborate with program staff to gather data, success stories, and financial information for proposal development
- Manage grant pipeline including deadlines, reporting requirements, and compliance documentation
- Conduct prospect research using databases like Foundation Directory Online and Candid
- Maintain accurate records of grant activities and prepare monthly progress reports for leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years professional grant writing experience with proven track record securing $500K+ annually
- Expertise in federal grants (e.g., HUD, HHS), foundation proposals, and corporate sponsorships
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with ability to translate complex programs into accessible narratives
- Proficiency with grant management software (e.g., Salesforce NPSP, GrantHub) and budget development
- Demonstrated success in building funder relationships and securing multi-year grants
- Strong analytical skills for program evaluation and impact measurement
