Responsibilities
- Research and identify federal, state, and private funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
- Develop persuasive grant proposals and reports with compelling narratives and data-driven impact metrics
- Collaborate with program teams to gather project information and ensure compliance with funder requirements
- Manage a portfolio of 15+ active grants with meticulous attention to deadlines and reporting schedules
- Analyze funding trends and maintain relationships with key institutional funders
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices and compliance standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Communications, Nonprofit Management, English) with 5+ years grant writing experience
- Proven track record of securing $500K+ annually in competitive grant funding
- Expertise with federal grants (especially US Department of Education) and private foundation applications
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives
- Proficiency with grant management software (e.g., Salesforce NPSP, Little Green Light)
- Strong analytical skills for budget development and program impact measurement
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
