Job Overview
As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution, and closure of complex technology projects. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that IT initiatives align with state regulatory requirements and strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle from initiation through closure, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on project objectives.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues using standard project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and organizational policies.
- Prepare regular status reports for executive leadership and state auditors.
- Facilitate training and knowledge transfer for junior project managers and team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, preferably within the government or public sector.
- Proven experience managing projects with budgets exceeding $500,000.
- Professional Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of state procurement regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check and fingerprinting process.
