Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the agency's local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and related hardware and software.
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with federal regulations (FISMA).
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for internal staff, resolving complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Conduct system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure optimal system uptime.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors to manage software licenses, upgrades, and service agreements.
- Document technical procedures, network diagrams, and system configurations for future reference.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration, networking, or technical support.
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between state facilities as required.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA are a strong plus.
