Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of complex IT systems and network infrastructure across state facilities.
- Lead the planning and execution of system upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to public services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and develop technical solutions.
- Ensure strict compliance with state cybersecurity standards and data protection regulations.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff members.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party technical service contracts.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to optimize operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IT systems administration or a related technical role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and enterprise database management systems.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS or Azure) is highly preferred.
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or PMP is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license may be required for site visits.
