Responsibilities
- System Architecture & Optimization: Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems, ensuring high availability and performance for government applications.
- Cybersecurity Leadership: Oversee security protocols, conduct risk assessments, and lead incident response efforts to protect sensitive state data.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams in the deployment of new technologies and software upgrades, adhering to strict government timelines and budgets.
- User Support & Training: Provide advanced technical support to internal staff and stakeholders, creating documentation and training programs to enhance digital literacy.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with external technology vendors to ensure compliance and value.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all technical operations adhere to state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and ISO standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration, network engineering, or a related technical role.
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Cloud technologies (Azure/AWS), and virtualization platforms.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Licensure: Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for state government security clearance.
