Responsibilities
- Network Administration: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, high-performance network infrastructure to support county operations.
- System Security: Implement and monitor advanced cybersecurity protocols to safeguard government data and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex technical issues for internal stakeholders, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Project Management: Lead IT initiatives from conception to deployment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions on time and within budget.
- Hardware & Software Deployment: Manage the lifecycle of hardware assets and software licenses, ensuring all systems meet organizational standards.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides, and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, or systems engineering within the public sector.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or CISSP are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, VPN technologies, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving technological landscapes and government requirements.
