Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex IT systems and network solutions to support state agency operations.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, system analysis, and performance tuning to ensure maximum uptime and security.
- Develop and maintain robust documentation, including technical standards, system diagrams, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define technical requirements and drive project milestones within the Agile framework.
- Provide high-level technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Ensure strict compliance with state and federal information security policies, including NIST frameworks.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies to recommend solutions that improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration, network engineering, or infrastructure management.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
- Proven experience with network protocols, virtualization technologies, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or PMP are highly preferred.
- Valid New York State driver’s license and proof of residency are required.
