Responsibilities
- Lead Strategic Initiatives: Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for state-sponsored applications, ensuring alignment with modern architectural standards.
- Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain robust network architectures to support high-availability services for government stakeholders.
- Security Compliance: Enforce strict data security protocols (e.g., FISMA compliance) to safeguard sensitive citizen data and prevent cyber threats.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior developers and systems administrators, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary technical liaison between government departments and IT vendors to ensure project scopes are met on time and within budget.
- System Optimization: Analyze system performance metrics and implement optimizations to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT project management, systems architecture, or software engineering within the public sector or a large enterprise.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#; strong experience with SQL databases and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a suitable security clearance is mandatory.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Certifications: PMP, CISSP, or similar certifications are highly preferred.
