Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems and networks to support city operations.
- Cybersecurity: Monitor network traffic, identify vulnerabilities, and enforce security protocols to protect sensitive government data.
- System Upgrades: Lead projects for software and hardware upgrades, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
- Ticket Resolution: Oversee the IT Help Desk queue, providing high-level technical support and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with external technology vendors to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Compliance: Ensure all IT activities adhere to federal, state, and local government regulations and standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent years of experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in systems administration or network engineering within the public or private sector.
- Certifications: Valid CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or CISSP certification is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, and virtualization technologies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical staff.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of resolving critical system outages efficiently.
