Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the City's core IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud solutions.
- Oversee cybersecurity protocols and ensure compliance with federal and state data protection standards.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify technical requirements and develop scalable solutions for government operations.
- Mentor junior IT staff and conduct regular technical training sessions to enhance team capabilities.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with minimal downtime for city operations.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee the execution of IT contracts and service level agreements.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for stakeholders and auditors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems management, preferably within a government or large enterprise setting.
- Strong proficiency in network architecture, cloud computing (AWS/Azure), and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or PMP are highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Valid California Driver's License may be required for travel to various city facilities.
