Responsibilities
- Network & Systems Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and server infrastructure across city facilities.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive city data and ensure compliance with state and federal cybersecurity standards.
- Ticket Management: Manage and prioritize IT service requests and incidents through our helpdesk system, ensuring rapid resolution and high user satisfaction.
- Project Leadership: Lead technical projects related to system upgrades, software deployments, and hardware procurement, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical guidance to city staff, acting as a subject matter expert for complex hardware and software issues.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, network diagrams, and technical procedures to support knowledge transfer and continuity.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required; equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, or systems engineering.
- Certifications: Active certification such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Cisco routers/switches, and standard office software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of resolving complex technical issues under pressure.
