Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN), ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues for state employees.
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data and infrastructure.
- Lead the planning and execution of IT infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and system implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements and develop scalable solutions.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance reviews to ensure compliance with federal and state standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Valid certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, server hardware, and virtualization technologies.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
- Experience working within a government or highly regulated corporate environment is a plus.
