Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting of local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
- Implement and monitor network security measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems, to safeguard sensitive state data.
- Provide advanced technical support and guidance to internal staff regarding hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy scalable IT solutions that meet business objectives.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance assessments, and capacity planning to ensure optimal system functionality.
- Document technical procedures and maintain accurate records of system configurations and changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT support.
- Valid professional certification such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA is highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud computing platforms (Azure/AWS).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced government environment.
