Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex software applications and database systems used by state agencies.
- Perform advanced system analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to resolve critical technical issues.
- Develop and enforce IT security policies and protocols to protect sensitive government data and infrastructure.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional project teams to deliver IT solutions on time and within budget.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff and developers.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to recommend innovative solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in software development, systems analysis, or network administration.
- Certification in ITIL, CompTIA Security+, or AWS is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL.
- Proven experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
