Responsibilities
- System Architecture & Strategy: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring scalability and high availability.
- Project Management: Oversee medium-to-large scale IT projects from inception to deployment, managing timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
- Security Compliance: Enforce state and federal cybersecurity standards, conducting risk assessments and implementing robust data protection measures.
- Traffic Management Systems: Monitor and optimize traffic control systems and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) to improve roadway efficiency.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical liaison for internal departments, translating complex technical requirements into actionable business solutions.
- Innovation Implementation: Research and integrate emerging technologies to modernize legacy systems and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior specialist capacity.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), virtualization, and enterprise software architecture.
- Project Management: PMP or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Government Experience: Experience working within state or local government is a significant plus.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
