Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions for state agencies.
- Conduct system architecture reviews and implement best practices for scalability and security.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers within the department.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver features on time.
- Ensure compliance with Massachusetts state regulations and federal standards (e.g., FedRAMP).
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Lead security assessments and vulnerability remediation efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or .NET.
- Experience with cloud platforms, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or CISSP are a plus.
