Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across state facilities.
- Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for hardware and software systems.
- Monitor network performance, security logs, and system alerts to prevent downtime and breaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy new IT solutions and upgrade existing infrastructure.
- Train and mentor junior IT staff and government employees on best practices and new technologies.
- Ensure strict compliance with state cybersecurity policies and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical training).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or systems engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
