Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security incidents using SIEM tools to detect and mitigate threats
- Implement and maintain network security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal systems
- Develop incident response plans and conduct tabletop exercises
- Ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 and FISMA standards
- Collaborate with IT teams to harden systems against attacks
- Generate security metrics reports for leadership review
Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain immediately)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity with federal system experience
- Certification in CISSP, CEH, or Security+ (required)
- Expertise in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Knowledge of NIST frameworks and FISMA compliance
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Strong analytical and incident response skills
