Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructure and cloud solutions (Azure/AWS) for state agencies.
- Lead the deployment of major IT initiatives, including system upgrades, migrations, and security enhancements.
- Ensure full compliance with New York State Cybersecurity policies and federal regulations (NIST, FISMA).
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and mentorship for junior IT staff.
- Conduct regular system audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver solutions on time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent progressive experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, or systems engineering.
- Civil Service eligibility for New York State (or the ability to obtain certification).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Azure Administrator, or CCNP are highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Proven experience in project management and vendor relationship management.
