Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, ensuring high availability and security.
- Manage and troubleshoot server hardware, virtualization environments, and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
- Oversee cybersecurity protocols, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with federal and state data privacy regulations.
- Lead and mentor junior IT staff, providing technical guidance and conducting code reviews for internal applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements and deliver scalable IT solutions.
- Monitor system performance, analyze data trends, and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical system failures and emergency IT incidents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, or systems engineering.
- Professional certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or VMware Certified Professional are strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing large-scale projects and working within a government or public sector environment.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required for system maintenance.
