About the Role:
As an IT Specialist, you will design, implement, and maintain advanced security architectures. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with federal standards (FISMA, FedRAMP) and mitigate emerging cyber threats. Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced network security architectures to protect federal information systems.
- Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security gaps.
- Oversee compliance with FISMA, NIST, and FedRAMP security requirements.
- Lead incident response teams to investigate and remediate security breaches.
- Manage the configuration and maintenance of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
- Develop and deliver security training programs for federal staff.
- Document technical architecture and security policies to ensure organizational knowledge retention.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in cybersecurity or network engineering within the federal sector.
- Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance (Public Trust clearance may be considered for entry-level roles).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of federal security frameworks, including NIST SP 800-53 and FISMA.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for security automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
