Role Overview
The Senior IT Specialist will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of complex IT systems within a federal environment. You will act as a subject matter expert, mentoring junior staff and ensuring all technical solutions adhere to strict government standards and compliance regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise-level IT infrastructure and cloud solutions.
- Ensure full compliance with federal security mandates, including FISMA, NIST, and FedRAMP standards.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for mission-critical systems and applications.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party IT service providers.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and disaster recovery plans.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and project scopes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military experience).
- Active Top Secret security clearance with favorable adjudication.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal or government IT environments.
- Deep knowledge of ITIL frameworks, network architecture, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud) and virtualization technologies.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead teams under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
