Responsibilities
- System Administration: Manage and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and hardware/software systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive federal data against cyber threats and ensure compliance with FISMA and NIST standards.
- Project Leadership: Lead IT infrastructure projects from conception through deployment, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders to meet strict deadlines.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently, minimizing downtime and improving user experience for government employees.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system diagrams, network configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Training: Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff members and end-users on new technologies and security best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in federal IT environments, network engineering, or systems administration.
- Clearance: Must be eligible for and willing to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in TCP/IP, routing, switching, Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and government IT procurement processes is a plus.
