Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and optimization of critical state government IT infrastructure and network systems.
- Implement and enforce rigorous cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive state data and citizen information.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support to internal government agencies and staff.
- Conduct system audits, performance analysis, and capacity planning to ensure high availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive digital transformation projects within the state department.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with state procurement regulations.
- Mentor junior IT staff and conduct technical training sessions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration, networking, or information security within a government or public sector environment.
- Active certification such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server environments, cloud technologies, and data privacy regulations (CCPA/CPRA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid California Driver’s License and a clean driving record are required for travel to various state facilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with diverse stakeholders.
