Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure and server environments to ensure optimal performance and high availability.
- Conduct system security audits and vulnerability assessments to safeguard sensitive state data and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Lead technical troubleshooting and incident response efforts for critical IT systems, minimizing downtime for government operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to integrate new technologies and drive digital transformation initiatives.
- Develop and deliver technical training and documentation for staff, ensuring knowledge transfer and standardization across departments.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party IT service contracts to ensure quality delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration, network engineering, or cloud infrastructure.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNP, or AWS Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) and automation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various state facilities within Nevada.
