Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-level security protocols across state networks
- Lead incident response for cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for critical systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with NIST/FISMA standards
- Maintain security monitoring tools and generate executive-level threat reports
- Mentor junior staff and develop security training programs
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years experience in IT security with government/federal compliance focus
- CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Expertise in network security tools (SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP) and zero-trust architectures
- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts
- Active Colorado driver's license
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
