Responsibilities
- Analyze complex data requirements from various city departments and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain secure government software systems and databases.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local data privacy regulations (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA).
- Lead technical projects and mentor junior analysts on best practices in software engineering and project management.
- Conduct regular system audits and implement robust cybersecurity protocols to protect city assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system performance and user experience.
- Document technical specifications, operational procedures, and system architecture for future reference.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT analysis, system architecture, or software development.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI).
- Deep understanding of government IT frameworks, cloud computing, and cybersecurity standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel between city facilities.
