Responsibilities
- Lead Strategic Initiatives: Direct the end-to-end lifecycle of major IT projects, from concept through deployment, ensuring alignment with City goals.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for executive leadership, department heads, and vendor partners, managing expectations and communication effectively.
- Agile & Waterfall Execution: Apply proven project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum and Waterfall) to deliver complex software solutions on schedule and within budget.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential project risks and implement proactive strategies to minimize impact on city operations.
- Resource Allocation: Coordinate cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and designers, to ensure optimal productivity.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor project deliverables to ensure they meet high standards of quality and compliance with all relevant government regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in IT project management, with at least 3 years in a government or public sector environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana) and enterprise systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and managing cross-departmental collaborations.
