Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of state-funded IT initiatives from concept through final deployment.
- Coordinate with federal agencies and local governments to align technology roadmaps with state strategic goals.
- Manage complex budgets, resource allocation, and timelines for high-stakes government projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to state procurement laws, federal compliance standards (FISMA), and accessibility regulations (WCAG).
- Facilitate stakeholder communication to drive consensus and mitigate project risks effectively.
- Lead agile ceremonies and mentor junior project managers within the state agency.
- Conduct performance reviews and continuous improvement assessments of technical processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management within the public sector, federal, or state government.
- Proven experience managing enterprise-level software development projects.
- Strong working knowledge of ITIL, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with government contracting and compliance frameworks (CMMI, ISO).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for high-level stakeholder reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, politically sensitive government environment.
