Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential threats to state systems.
- Design, implement, and monitor intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) to safeguard network boundaries.
- Enforce security policies and compliance standards (NIST, FISMA) across all agency IT environments.
- Lead incident response efforts for cybersecurity breaches, coordinating with internal teams and external law enforcement.
- Perform regular penetration testing and security audits to ensure the integrity of sensitive government data.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and non-technical stakeholders on security best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in information security, risk management, or cybersecurity analysis.
- Certification: CISSP, CISM, or CSSLP (or equivalent professional experience).
- Deep knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Experience with federal and state government compliance frameworks (e.g., FISMA, NIST 800-53).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical data and produce actionable reports.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Level II Public Trust Security Clearance.
