Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure IT infrastructure including cloud services and network systems
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives to protect sensitive city data and systems
- Provide technical leadership for cross-departmental IT projects
- Develop and document IT policies, procedures, and disaster recovery plans
- Mentor junior IT staff and conduct technology training for city employees
- Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and implement new technologies
- Monitor system performance and optimize IT operations for efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive IT experience with government or public sector background preferred
- Certification in CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent cybersecurity certification
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and enterprise network management
- Strong project management skills with experience leading complex technical initiatives
- Excellent communication abilities with experience presenting to non-technical stakeholders
- Texas driver's license required
