Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize enterprise network infrastructure including Cisco firewalls, VPNs, and cloud systems
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives for municipal data systems and implement NIST compliance protocols
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for 500+ government employees across 50+ departments
- Oversee IT project lifecycles from requirements analysis to deployment and post-implementation review
- Collaborate with state agencies on interoperability standards for public safety systems
- Document IT policies, procedures, and disaster recovery plans
- Mentor junior IT staff and conduct technology training workshops
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive IT experience in government or regulated industry
- CompTIA Security+ and Cisco CCNA certifications required
- Expert knowledge of Azure/AWS cloud platforms and hybrid IT architectures
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise-grade cybersecurity frameworks
- Strong project management skills with PMP or similar certification
- Excellent written communication for technical documentation and stakeholder reports
- Must pass background check and possess valid NC driver's license
