Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage the City's network architecture, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex hardware and software issues affecting city operations.
- Security Compliance: Monitor system logs, implement security protocols, and ensure compliance with federal and state data privacy regulations.
- Project Leadership: Lead IT initiatives, including software upgrades and hardware rollouts, in collaboration with cross-functional government teams.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network diagrams and standard operating procedures.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors to ensure optimal service delivery.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration or network engineering within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or CCNP are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure cloud services, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
