Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses in federal networks.
- Manage and enforce Access Control Lists (ACLs) and Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards.
- Develop and maintain Security Plans and Incident Response Plans (IRPs) in accordance with federal regulations.
- Monitor network traffic for anomalies and respond immediately to security incidents or potential breaches.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior cybersecurity analysts and IT staff.
- Coordinate with external auditors and federal inspectors to ensure continuous compliance and accreditation.
- Configure and harden enterprise hardware and software solutions to mitigate cyber threats.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active Top Secret Security Clearance required. CISSP, Security+, or GSEC certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IT security or network administration within a federal or government contracting environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field is required; equivalent military or technical experience may be substituted.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with network security tools (e.g., Splunk, Snort, Firewalls) and scripting languages (Python or Bash).
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of FISMA, DIACAP, or FedRAMP requirements.
