As a Federal IT Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity, security, and efficiency of our critical information systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions that align with federal regulations and VA strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust federal information systems and applications.
- Ensure full compliance with FISMA, NIST, and VA-specific security policies and standards.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and system optimization for enterprise-level hardware and software.
- Conduct code reviews and lead technical documentation efforts for federal projects.
- Collaborate with program managers to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and security incident response protocols.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on federal best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- Active Secret Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal or government IT environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or C#.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and ITIL framework.
- Knowledge of cloud services (AWS/Azure) and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
