Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security for critical VA systems.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and support a wide range of hardware and software solutions for internal staff.
- Ensure full compliance with federal security standards, including FISMA and NIST guidelines.
- Lead IT project initiatives, including system upgrades, migrations, and software deployments.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff and network administrators.
- Document technical processes, system configurations, and incident reports accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Certification preferred: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Security+.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal background investigation (Secret Clearance).
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud computing platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
