Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure and systems within the municipal government framework.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure 99.9% uptime for essential services.
- Enforce strict cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive citizen data and government assets in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify technology needs and provide strategic technical solutions.
- Conduct regular security audits, patch management, and system backups to prevent data breaches.
- Train and mentor junior IT staff and provide technical support to internal government agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent military/technical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration, systems engineering, or IT support in a large organization.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or CISSP are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of government IT compliance standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
