Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure IT infrastructure solutions for federal clients, ensuring 99.9% system uptime and data integrity.
- Lead complex system troubleshooting and root cause analysis for hardware, software, and network issues within a remote environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and integrate cloud-based services (AWS/Azure) into existing federal architectures.
- Conduct rigorous security assessments and vulnerability testing to ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST).
- Provide expert-level technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and junior contractors, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including system diagrams, architecture plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring all milestones are met within scope and budget constraints.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IT systems administration or software engineering within a federal, state, or highly regulated environment.
- Strong proficiency in managing Windows Server, Linux environments, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting with strong time management and self-discipline.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances (e.g., Public Trust or Secret clearance).
